How does mattress height affect lying comfort?

Theoretically, it's quite simple – the thicker the mattress, the more comfortable it is to lie on. From a thickness of approx. 12 cm, there is more scope in terms of softness and medium firmness. Below this, a firmer version should be chosen.

Can I also order mattresses or upholstery with curves?

You are also welcome to order your mattress or upholstery with curves. Simply send us a drawing of your desired configuration by e-mail to support@vanmade.de and we will prepare a customised quote for you. You can find the drawing templates HERE. Please note that radii of less than 5 cm cannot be taken into account for production reasons.

How long do the mattresses and upholstery last?

Our mattresses and upholstery are high-quality, custom-made products that offer the best seating and sleeping comfort for many years. With normal use and care, they have a lifespan of around 5 years or more – depending on wear and tear, even significantly longer.

What does density mean and why is it important?

The density (RG) indicates the compactness of the foam in kg/m³. A higher density means greater durability and comfort. Our mattresses are made of RG40 foam – a quality material that is durable, dimensionally stable and very comfortable at the same time.

How do I measure my ideal mattress correctly?

Please specify the dimensions of your desired mattress so that it will fit into your bed frame. We always manufacture to the final dimensions. If your order consists of several parts (chain dimensions), you will be asked to provide us with a simple sketch of the arrangement of your elements after placing your order.

Do mattress or upholstery covers affect the firmness?

A firm upholstery cover generally makes the seat or bed feel slightly harder than a flexible mattress cover. A mattress is always slightly softer than upholstery (with padding) of the same height and firmness.
